The Heart and the Subsidiary
When the heart has grown weaker and frailer with age
or when communication becomes more difficult
our hearts hire one of their foreign subsidiaries
to spare them some of the motions, some of the ache:
Tongue: the worst interpreter of the heart
Lips: a good but confusing agent
Eyes: a very well equipped attorney but can end up revealing too much
Brows: vague and can easily be corrupt by the eye
Hands: lethal
Body: can be very dangerous, used only when absolutely necessary, but still very often
each with a skill
each with a tool
each for a love, damaged, broken, dumped
different languages all uttering the same thing;
I love you but I can’t.
القلب و توابعه
عندما تَثقُل بالسنين أرواحنا و يصبح عقيماً حوارنا و تتصدأ بالفشل كلماتنا
تلجأ قلوبنا التعبة المهزومة لإحدى توابعها لعلها تحمِل عنها جبال عواطفنا:
اللسان: أسوأ مترجمي الخاطر
الشفاة: وكيلٌ فذ لكنه كاذب
العين: الشفيع الذي غالباً ما يفضحنا
الحاجب: غامض و ضعيف ومنقاداً وراء العين
اليدين: شغفها هالك
الجسد: نريد أن نتفادى اللجوء إليه , لكننا نفشل
لكل من توابعِ القلب حرفة, مهارة , حذق و براعة, لكل منها لغة, لكل منها معرفه و مع هذا فجميعها متشابه, تراوغ و تماطل لتعود في النهاية و تقول:
أُحبك و لكنني لا أستطيع.
